Pre-Algebra

 

Pre-Algebra sets the foundation for Algebra I. Topics are covered in-depth and in detail. Topics covered in the class include: variable equations and expressions, working with integers, rational numbers, new number concepts such as fractions, decimals, and negative numbers, factorization of numbers, properties and order of operations, simple roots and exponents, solving equations, variables, functions, and graphing. Focus in class is on acquainting students with what they will encounter in their schoolwork and establishing the fundamental concepts and ideas for Algebra I and high school level math.

 

Students are given many practice problems, both in class and for homework, thus giving them the opportunity to master the material. This class is intended give a “jump start” for young students with their school studies.
