Specialty Programs
(GPA Management, Reading Quest, Perfect Writing &
Debating the NY Times)
GPA Management
This program is designed for students who wish to maintain or improve their Grade Point Average (GPA) in preparation for applying to college. Many competitive colleges require an average grade of a B+ or better. Our instructors work with students using the students' own class work and material. The goal is for the instructor to reinforce, and for the student to master, the lessons the student has learned in school.
(Grades 9-12)
Reading Quest
This program utilizes award-winning literature, guided reading homework, reading comprehension tests and well-organized lessons in a very small group (2-3 students per class). Reading Quest helps students build analytical reading and writing skills - skills that play an important role in all areas of schoolwork.
(Grades 3-12)
Perfect Writing
Writing well helps your child improve schoolwork, enjoy self-expression, and become more self-reliant. Perfect Writing is a one-on-one writing workshop that will enhance students' writing skills through a variety of topics and essay styles.
(Grades 3 -12)
Debating the NY Times
Students take a position on and debate a NY Times topic which is similar to an SAT essay topic. Students learn to strengthen their arguments, thus improving their oral and written persuasive skills.
